You are entitled to medical treatment to help you recover from a work injury/illness, paid for by your employer/carrier. Some treatment you may be provided could include doctor visits, diagnostic tests, physical therapy/chiro care, surgery, medication, and hospital treatment if necessary.
If you cannot work during recovery because of your injury, you may get up to two-thirds of your wages, payable every two weeks, with limits set by law. Most payments under the law cannot exceed 104 weeks within five years from date of injury.
You receive Permanent Disability benefits if you do not fully recover. The amount you can receive is based on medical reports, your age, and your occupation.
These benefits include a voucher for up to $6000. It can be used for retraining/schooling at an approved institution, books, supplies/tools, licenses/certifications, job search resources. You are eligible if you have permanent disability and your employer does not offer you regular/modified/alternative work within 60 days after the insurance company receives a doctor's report indicating you have reached a maximum level of recovery.
If there is a death as a result of a work injury, the spouse, children and other dependents can receive benefits based on the number of dependents. There is also a burial allowance provided.
